Antique Oak Doors
Old Oak Antique Reproduction Cottage Doors are works of art that are made from new Oak that has been aged to give a very authentic rustic finished look. We, at Cottage Doors, can now supply these Antique Reproduction Doors either unfinished, it is ‘aged’ with wear marks etc., or finished, as per the choice and the requirement of the customer. This rustic finished product easily resembles an Antique door from a property of the bygone era that looks and feels genuine. Knots and cracks are an important feature of making period oak doors, especially using only 3 very wide oak planks. During finishing, beeswax can be used to fill out small knots while the large cracks can be patched with wood. All doors are held together by a technique known as tongue and groove. A color of your choice can be chosen for the final finishing. We, at Cottage Doors, often have customers calling to let us know that not only the finished doors look great in their period property but how a majority of their friends think that these antique doors are genuine from a property of the old bygone era. It is very hard for them to believe that they are Antique Reproduction Doors made from new Oak. Now that is what we, at Cottage Doors, call ART.
